A Bronx seventh-grader has earned a national award in reading.
Adama Bah was just one of 15 students nationwide to receive the award through the 'Read 180' program.
When Bah first joined the program at Hyde Leadership Charter School, she read at a fourth-grade level and was struggling.
However, her teachers say since joining the program, she now reads at a ninth-grade level after just one year.
Bah says the program helped boost her self-confidence, and she recently read aloud in front of hundreds of people about how the program has helped her.
