An art gallery in City Island is celebrating four decades of business.
Artist Ron Terner, owner of the Focal Point Gallery, has been in business for more than 40 years.
As a photographer and artist, Terner says he is inspired by his grandmother who was an artist in Vienna.
He says he lived in the back of the gallery for four years, with no heat or hot water.
He also says the community has helped him keep going for all these years.
"I'm happy if they just come in and look at the artwork, come in to say hello to me... my family," Terner says.
Terner collects horseshoe crabs as they wash up on shore. A customer gave a large crab to him, which he says he plans to paint the landscape of City Island on.
Each month the gallery showcases different bodies of work. "Sculptures" by Ron Terner will be on display until Oct. 31.
Anyone interested in displaying their work can go to the Focal Point Gallery and speak to Terner.
