Biden nominates former NJ Attorney General Anne Milgram to head DEA

A former New Jersey attorney general may be the new head of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
President Joe Biden announced on Monday that he is nominating former Attorney General Anne Milgram to lead the DEA. Milgram served as attorney general from 2007-2010 under then-Gov. Jon Corzine.
Milgram’s nomination earned praise from Sen. Bob Menendez.
“A great choice by @POTUS! Anne Milgram has a long history in NJ as the state’s Attorney General,” the senator wrote on Twitter. “She will be an excellent DEA Administrator, who will work diligently to fight drug trafficking and keep dangerous substances like fentanyl off our streets.”
Milgram began her career as an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and then went on to serve as a federal prosecutor in the United States Department of Justice.
Milgram is currently a professor at New York University School of Law.
