Supporters flooded Grand Army Plaza Saturday to celebrate as former Vice President Joe Biden was announced the apparent president-elect of the United States.
But for each person who came to celebrate, the historic day brought a different meaning, while others now look to a new administration amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As Biden is expected to become the nation's 46th president, some celebrated representation, as Sen. Kamala Harris makes history as the first woman and woman of color vice president-elect.
