A bill has been introduced to get more people to adopt their next pet from an animal shelter.
Brooklyn's borough president is calling on Albany to approve a $100 tax credit for those who rescue a dog or cat.
Eric Adams says it's time to give animal lovers an incentive to stay away from pet stores.
The idea is that the credit will also help subsidize some of the startup costs associated with adding a pet to the family.
