Area roads may be slick with black ice, posing a hazard to drivers, experts warn.

Black ice can be especially hard to spot since it blends in with the road.

"If you're driving and the pavement looks wet, if the tires of the vehicles around you are kicking up spray, then you're alright, it's just wet pavement," says Robert Sinclair, of AAA. "But if it looks wet and there's no spray being kicked up, especially after dark, then its ice. It's black ice and you need to slow down, slow well below the speed limit."

Drivers are advised to be cautious and slow down if they encounter black ice on the roads.
