A Brooklyn couple held their wedding ceremony Saturday at the site of the “Black Lives Matter” mural in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

News 12’s Phil Taitt was there as Shancton Thompson and Makeita Wilson tied the knot. 

They say it was important for them to put their love on display with family, friends ad other loved ones at a place that celebrates Black lives.

The groom said getting married at the mural at this time means more than can be imagined.

"I have an aunt who was in an era where she's picking cotton, so to hear her talk about that and to be here right now....even though we're going through a lot, we're doing it," he says.
