The Bodega Truck is cooking up six different variations of a New York staple found in bodegas across the city -- the chopped cheese.
Owner Jeremy Batiste opened two weeks ago.
"The first day was insane," he said. "I had at least 200 people come out the first day -- it was incredible. It's been overwhelming, the amount of love and support I've been getting from the community."
The dream was originally put on hold by the pandemic.
"Growing up in New York, my mom she had a bodega, and I grew up in the bodegas -- and they're essential in every community around New York. The chopped cheese is one of my favorite meals from the bodega," Batiste said.
