A
fundraiser for the family of a Stamford high school student found dead in the woods has raised enough money to send his body to Guatemala.
Santos Eujedo Perez would have been a senior at Westhill High School this fall, school officials said.
Police said Eujedo Perez was
found dead in a wooded area near a construction site where he had just started working in New Canaan.
More than $12,000 was donated to bury him in his parent’s native town in Guatemala.
Police say there are no signs of foul play and are awaiting further tests before determining a cause of death.
