New bodycam footage shows when Yonkers police rescued a woman and her child following a car crash into a building.
The mother and her child are recovering in the hospital Saturday following the incident on Lake Avenue.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows a black Hyundai crashing into a barbershop and watch repair store, striking the woman and trapping her 8-month-old daughter under the car.
Bystanders and two officers, who were next door at a bagel shop, were able to spring into action and lift the vehicle off the child.
The mother sustained a serious femur fracture and the baby suffered aa skull fracture and third degree burns to her back and foot.
Both are expected to survive.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as David Poncurak, is being charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
He is currently awaiting arraignment.
