A Throgs Neck restaurant is spreading Latin flavor across the Bronx.

Made in Puerto Rico hopes to give customers an authentic island experience.

The menu features traditional cuisine, but also adds a twist on things like their signature Tri Fongo dish.

"It is the same concept as a mofongo, but we use a blend of green plantains and yuca/cassava," says general manager Jose Torres. "And we mash them together, similar to the mofongo and then we top it with whatever you want."

The staff says it makes them feel good to be able to share a piece of the Puerto Rico with the neighborhood.
