The Bronx has been without a bookstore for two years now, but some community members are trying to rewrite that narrative.

Community members  got the opportunity to meet their favorite author at the borough’s first brook festival at Fordham Plaza on Saturday.

The Bronx has been without a bookstore since the Bay Chester Barns & Noble store closed in 2016.

Saraciea Fennell organized the event, inviting authors to talk in a panel discussion.

A bookstore is scheduled to open in the Bronx this summer.
