Here’s what you need to know:
  • A WIND ADVISORY is in effect through 6 p.m. this evening. Gusts up to 50 mph will bring the risk of isolated power outages, downed tree limbs and scattered outdoor holiday decorations.
  • Strong wind gusts continues into this afternoon with bitterly cold temperatures. It stays very cold into the New Year's Day with a chance of a few flakes.
  • It's painfully cold this morning. Winds sting against any exposed skin as wind chills are in the teens.
  • Unfortunately, the gusty winds and bitterly cold air mass last all day with wind chills in the teens and low 20s. Gusts up to 50 mph will be problematic throughout the afternoon. Tie down any loose outdoor objects, temporarily bring in trash bins and decorations.
  • A weak storm system will bring few flurries Wednesday morning. These flurries will not amount to anything across the city. Winds aren't as harsh on Wednesday, but another chance of flurries is possible after 11 p.m. into early New Year's Day. Stay tuned for updates.
  • Temperatures will be frigid in the upper 20s to low 30s on Thursday and Friday. It stays very cold and quiet into the first weekend of 2026, before another storm arrives early next week.
