The Bridgeport City Council passed a resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas back in January but members of the Jewish community allege their voices were not heard during the initial discussion.

On Tuesday, dozens of people from different faith groups flooded the City Hall chambers with signs, flags and posters.

Plenty of people voiced their concerns at the meeting. Some of the residents say they are in favor of a ceasefire, while some oppose it and others say the city should be diverting its resources and time elsewhere.

The CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County claimed the current ceasefire resolution calls for the “destruction of Israel.”
