Bridgeport nonprofit honors Southport residents for helping families across the region

A Bridgeport nonprofit honored two Southport residents for helping kids and families across the region.
LifeBridge Community Services recognized Brendan and Carolyn Miles with "the Brian Landon Award" for donating money and time to the agency.
Officials say Brendan Miles is battling brain cancer, but that hasn't stopped him from being a major driving force behind the agency.
"What Carolyn and Brendan Miles have done for LifeBridge is really incalculable. It's beyond measure and I'm so grateful to them for giving LifeBridge the ability to give back to our community and to celebrate life," said U.S. Sen. Richard Blumnethal
"This organization is really a force within the community to help youth and their families meet their aspirations and their potential," said Howard Green of LifeBridge.
LifeBridge helps kids and families "achieve the American dream through education, counseling, and other forms of support."
