Bridgeport veterans pay tribute to fallen heroes ahead of Memorial Day

Dozens of local veterans gathered at Bridgeport’s Lakeview Cemetery Tuesday to place small American flags at the graves of fallen service members to honor their ultimate sacrifice.
"We do this every year to commemorate their service, as well as the sacrifice they made fighting for America," said Cindy Wiliams, who heads up the Bridgeport Veterans Support Center.
"The annual tribute ensures that every heroes headstone is marked with a flag - a gesture of profound respect and remembrance," Williams said.
