The Bridgewater Commons mall may be the site of New Jersey's next mall brawl.

The mall is taking steps to prevent an unwanted gathering following several weekends of disturbances at New Jersey Malls involving crowds of teenagers, according to police.

Bridgewater police say they are aware of social media posts indicating that Bridgewater Commons may be the next gathering location for crowds of teenagers.

“Any planned disturbances or unlawful activity will be met with a coordinated response by the Bridgewater Police Department,” officials wrote in a statement.

Bridgewater Police Chief John B. Mitzak says officers are actively monitoring social media activity, reminding teens they will be held accountable for any disturbances.

Police are asking parents and guardians to speak to their children about the consequences of disruptive unlawful behavior.
