A fifth grader from the Bronx hosted a march to ensure her and her community’s voices were heard in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
Breanna Collazo says she saw the protests happening and began to wonder what she could to do to help.
She decided to gather her family, friends and neighbors in Crotona Park Friday for their own Black Lives Matter march.
"It feels horrible to know that we're not wanted here. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner and so much more. To die just because of the color of their skin…we shouldn't have to fear that we're going to die because of the color of our skin," says Breanna.
The girl and her community marched two to three blocks and then spoke about the importance of having their voices heard.
Breanna says she hopes her small protest will have a big impact.
