A Bronx elementary school student made the catch of a lifetime at Yankee Stadium last week when he hauled in a Luke Voit home run ball.
Tyler Augustine caught the home run ball when thousands of students across the Bronx were invited to a Yankees game as part of an end-of-the-year event.
Augustine transferred to P.S. 212X on Tinton Avenue back in March and has been trying to get used to his new surroundings. The fifth grader's catch was at his first Yankees game, and he says the catch is something he's proud of and continues to share with his family and new friends at school.
"Once Voit hit it ... I tried to catch it, and it hit my hand and I caught it," says Augustine. "It's really important to me because it was my first time."
Augustine wrote the date on the home run ball to mark the special catch. He jokingly says there's also room for an autograph.
