Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson delivered her State of the Borough address at Lehman College on Thursday night.

The theme this year's address was "securing the Bronx: protecting our future."

Gibson announced several new initiatives, including capping the Cross Bronx Expressway, investing more in education and building more affordable housing.

Gibson also called for the Parks Department to plant more trees to help make neighborhoods greener and healthier.
