The Book Bodega, the first children's bookstore in the Bronx, is now open.
Museum officials say 70% of Bronx third graders are not reading at the appropriate level. They want to encourage kids to read while showcasing books that represent members of the community.
The museum will be giving out free books for the rest of this week. Community members can access The Book Bodega during museum hours, and with an admission ticket.
