Community centers in the Bronx will be getting $69 million from the American Rescue Plan to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The centers are participating in President Joe Biden's Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program to expand vaccine distribution, testing and treatment while also offering affordable, high-quality health services.
Urban Health Plan, Bronx Community Health Network, Bronx Health Integrated Services, Morris Heights Health Center, Union Community Health Center and Montefiore Medical Center will all be receiving federal funds.
The funding provides a direct supply of vaccines to the hardest-hit and highest-risk communities.
The American Rescue Plan is the first step in Biden's plan to help the nation recover through establishing a national vaccine program and supporting communities struggling during the pandemic.
