Bronx community groups gathered at Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday to stand in support with the Palestinian people.

Participants of the rally say they are not anti-Israel and that they believe Israel has a right to exist, but they are opposed to the government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the expulsion of Palestinians.

The peaceful rally comes after violence in Times Square broke out during a protest where many Jewish people were targeted. This was the same day both sides of government came to a ceasefire agreement.

Rally organizer Jennifer Scarlott says the activists at the rally agree that no one should attack either side. She says the event was not about more bloodshed or physical violence.

"We are calling for the end of U.S. military aid to Israel until the occupation ends for the right of return, and for just justice and peace for the Palestinian people," Scarlott says.

Many Jewish people at the rally in support of Palestinian say that the Israeli future demands freedom for Palestine.
