Commuters in the Bronx tell News 12 they've run into multiple issues with the MTA's tap to pay system, OMNY.
Ramon Espinal, a Parkchester resident says that he has been dealing with the payment issues for over a month at the Elder Avenue, Parkchester and 28th Street MTA subway stations.
Espinal says the tap to pay systems won't accept any of his cellphone or credit card taps, even though there's money on his cards.
In a statement, an MTA spokesperson said, "An error occurred during a major system upgrade performed last week by Cubic, an external vendor. We continue to work with the vendor to quickly resolve any remaining customer issues, including the issuance of refunds where necessary."
The MTA says that turnstiles and OMNY validators at the Elder, Parkchester and 28th Street Stations have been tested and are working.
News 12 also reached out to Cubic for a statement and is waiting for a response.
