The Bronx district attorney is responding to calls from a local animal rescue group warning residents of dogs that they say are mauling other animals.
Several residents in Gun Hill Road say there are people in the area who are known to breed pit bulls to kill.
The Bronx district attorney says they are working with NYPD's Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad to determine where a viral video of a pit bull attacking a cat was taken and who created it.
NYPD tweeted it is aware of the viral video and told News 12 in a statement that there is an ongoing investigation.
