Bronx DA: Man sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for rape
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office says a man was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for rape on Wednesday.
Authorities say Ramon Rotestan, 47, followed a 40-year-old mother into an elevator inside a Parkchester apartment on the night of May 9, 2022.
They say Rotestan robbed the mother at knifepoint and raped her. He was arrested three days later and last month pleaded guilty to attempted rape.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office acknowledged the Crime Victims Assistance Bureau has been providing resources to the victim since the attack.
