A Bronx dad is accused of beating his 4-year-old daughter with a bat.

According to the criminal complaint, Noel Morales, 32, told police he had frequent arguments with his daughter's mother about him being out of work. He told police that right before the incident they were having a fight. The complaint also states that Morales confessed to police saying, "I hit her three times. She never fell when I hit her. She was not crying."

The child is recovering Friday at a pediatric intensive care unit at Manhattan Hospital. The girl's mother was not home at the time of the incident.

Morales is charged with three counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. The case is expected to go to a grand jury.
