As the historic confirmation hearings for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court continue at the nation's capital, the moment is powerful for many. 

Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, who was the first Black woman to serve as district attorney in New York state tells News 12 that these confirmation hearings will shape generations.

"Being a Black woman myself and being a former judge to see the person, the woman who is going to be and she is going to be confirmed - the first Black woman to sit on the Supreme Court is just surreal. She knows her stuff and she was showing America and the world,” said Clark. 

DA Clark says being a "first, '' and especially a Black woman in a high position, is a lot of pressure and it's not easy. 

"I've earned it, she's earned it, we know that, but we still have to continually prove to everybody that we earned it and we deserve it," said Clark.
