A Bronx family who has been living in the McKinley Houses for about 15 years says their apartment has started to crumble around them.
The family of 11 says their apartment at 750 East 163rd St. has plaster coming off the walls and mold in the bathroom and closets. They say there are also holes that mice have created around the kitchen and bathroom.
The family says they have reached out to NYCHA for repairs, but that workers haven’t shown up.
A NYCHA spokesperson told News 12 that they are working urgently to make sure the residents have a safe, clean place to call home. The spokesperson said that staff would make all necessary repairs Wednesday and ensure any follow-up needs are addressed as soon as possible.
