Things went from bad to worse for one Bronx family Friday afternoon and now they want police to do something to help.
The Mooteram family says a fire tore through their apartment and while trying to salvage their belongings they noticed someone had broken into their cellar. The family says a stereo had been moved and 40 bottles of liquor were taken. The Mooterams called 911 but claim the police didn't help. After the police left, the family says it heard people trying to break into a boarded up window and add that it happened three more times during the night.
The Mooterams say they fear the burglars will come back because their home is vulnerable due to all the fire damage. They say they want the police to file a proper report. The NYPD says it is investigating.
