A new mural at a hospital in the Bronx is adding a splash of color and happiness.
When patients get off the elevator on the maternity floor at New York City Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, they will see hand-painted, geometric colorful shapes and figures painted by Mexican artist Arantxa Rodriguez.
In the mural titled "Blooming Blossoms," the artist says you can see figures of women throughout the artwork, celebrating and honoring them for bringing life into the world.
The work was revealed on International Women's Day.
This is Rodriguez's second mural at Lincoln Hospital, thanks to grants from "Arts and Medicine" and "Residency Unlimited."
