Two students from the Bronx Academy for Software Engineering are the winners of the Posse college scholarship award.
Rexford Fremong and Godson Ansah are the two winners of the prestigious award, which was created to help identify future leaders and scholars in high school communities that would traditionally be overlooked because of structural inequalities and disadvantages.
Thousands of students compete annually for a Posse scholarship, which can take months to go through. Students often spend months with the aid of school mentors going through the lengthy application and interview process.
Fremong and Ansah are the first two winners to come from the Bronx Academy of Software Engineering, and will be attending University of Wisconsin-Madison and Lawrence University.
