Bronx man accused of punching child at Bryant Park holiday market

Police say a Bronx man was arrested, accused of punching a child at the Bryant Park holiday market.

David Silva, 42, is accused of striking a 6-year-old boy in the head around 4:45 p.m. Sunday near West 42nd Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

Silva then approached a 61-year-old man who was tending to the child in an aggressive manner, according to the NYPD.

EMS treated the boy for his injuries, and he is expected to be OK.

Police say Silva is charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment.
