Community leaders called on a White Plains Road club to shut its doors during a rally Monday.
Neighborhood residents say illegal parties at the club, named Karma, have been causing disturbances in the neighborhood. Many also say there is inadequate security at the club.
State Sen. Jeff Klein, Councilman Jimmy Vaca and Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera want the State Liquor Authority to immediately suspend Karma?s license so that it can be shuttered permanently.
The club recently lost its permit to assemble and is temporarily closed. Karma is ?not an establishment that belongs in any neighborhood,? Klein says.
