The principal of the Bronx Regional High School has been named one of the best in the country Saturday.
Colin Thomas won the MetLife Foundation Ambassadors in Education award. The high school takes students struggling with academic and personal problems. Thomas gets involved with all of his 360 students. He says he wants to give the kids a chance to believe in themselves. His students credit Thomas with their success in education.
Along with the national award, Thomas received a $5,000 grant. He says he will give the money to seniors to help pay for college. MetLife representatives will honor Thomas in a special ceremony in June.
