A Bronx recording studio is teaching kids in the community lifelong skills for free.
Umbrella Studios NYC isn't your ordinary recording studio. They are offering free lessons on how to create beats, master the track and the ins and outs of music engineering.
"Being creative to me that's the most important thing especially here in the Bronx where were fighting stigmas like people having a conversation saying we don't know about computers," studio co-owner Cover COD said.
Cover COD and co-owner Charlie were both born and raised in the Bronx and say the community needed something like this to fight the constant stigmas the Bronx faces.
"When my partner first started everything was manual and much harder. Today all there is, is buttons it makes it much easier to produce everything," Charlie said.
Charlie said his main focus is to teach children who live in the Bronx something that isn't normally offered for free.
He says the programs last about four weeks between the hours 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
