This is all part of The Bronx is Reading's BX Book Festival. Authors like Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, who grew up right near Fordham Plaza, are back home to share their books.
“I used to transfer from the 12 to the 55 to get to school," said Reynoso-Morris. "Growing up there were hundreds and thousands of books about Manhattan, but there were no books about the Bronx.”
Other authors like two-time Pulitzer winner Colson Whitehead and Dhonielle Clayton will be in attendance as well.
The free festival starts Saturday at 8 a.m. at Fordham Plaza.
