Residents of a Fordham Heights apartment building are left with more questions than answers after part of their building collapsed on Sunday night.
The building’s bottom floor caved in at around 10:30 p.m. on April 31, along with neighbors’ backyards who live on the opposite side of the apartment complex. One resident who lives a few stories above the collapse tells us he wasn’t at home, but his daughter with her newborn baby were.
Resident Miguel Nunez told News 12 that while the collapse did not physically damage his home, it has caused major inconveniences.
“We dont have gas, thats really hot, not even hot water. we have a little bit of warm water but showering with cold water is not easy,” said Nunez.
According to the building’s management office, residents whose apartments have been impacted are set to be relocated along with those who do not feel safe.
