Bronx residents were lined up starting this morning to receive COVID-19 vaccinations and make appointments at the newly opened site at Yankee Stadium.
Residents say there was some confusion in the morning about where to go to get the vaccine and where to set up an appointment.
SOMOS told News 12 that there were 2,000 appointments left available around 10 a.m. However, it has since been difficult to load the website to schedule appointments.
Omar Maldonado says waiting on line at the stadium is his best chance at getting an appointment.
"I tried a couple of times over the phone and on the web,” he says. “This is the venue I came to because I can't walk so much, and you know it's easy for me to get here. I'm over 65, so I just need the appointment so I can get inoculated.”
Members of the National Guard are standing by to guide people where to go and keep the line moving.
