Residents in the Bronx are rushing to file their tax returns before Tuesday's midnight deadline.
For last minute filers, it's important to note that the Bronx General Post Office on the Grand Concourse is one of only three offices in the city that's keeping its doors open until midnight. To avoid penalties, the postal service suggests making sure you have proper postage and the correct IRS address. Also, packages weighing more than 16 ounces must be brought to a post office window. Finally, don't use an office post meter because it's not viewed by the IRS as proof of timely filing.
Aside from the Bronx General Post Office, all other offices in the Bronx close at 7 p.m.
