Students in the Bronx watched the United States take on India during the final match of the T20 Cricket World Cup being held in New York.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Morris Park brought together cricket fans alongside the team that represents the school.
The school’s cricket team started in 2022, made up of doctors, scientists and students of the school.
“I didn't expect cricket [to be] so popular here,” said one of the team members. “I knew the Cricket World Cup 2024 was happening here in U.S. so I told my wife ‘we are going to United States we'll see the Cricket World Cup there’."
The team is looking to expand and says they are hoping to add a women’s team in the future too.
India beat the United States by seven wickets.
