Bronx resident Mike Milligan says the best part about his ornamented motorized chair is not the bumper stickers, horns or lights, but that it enables him to explore his favorite borough.
Milligan, 69, says he got the chair eight months ago because he can?t stand for long periods of time. He decorated the red-painted chair with flags and a license plate that reads ?FORGEDABOUTIT.? His other decorations are inspired by his love of fire engines, he says.
Milligan says his chair, which reaches speeds of up to 30 miles, enables him to travel all over the Bronx and into other boroughs. He says he?s ridden more than 4,800 miles.
He says he hopes other people his age follow his lead in exploring the Bronx.
