New York City public school students officially kicked off their summer vacation on Tuesday.  

While summer started back on June 21, the official start to the summer season for New York City students was Tuesday. Students from P.S. 100 in Soundview celebrated at an ice cream truck outside of their school, sharing what they’re looking forward to this summer.  

These Soundview students rejoiced over activities like going to the pool, summer camp, the beach, spending time with family, and even going on vacation overseas. Some reflected on their past year in school as well.  

“I’m proud of myself for graduating fourth grade and not picking on other kids,” said Christopher Robinson, who’s headed to the fifth grade in the fall.
