Bronx students treated to the sounds of the New York Philharmonic

Principal Oboist Liang Wang and award-winning pianist Junko Ichikawa performed for kids in pre-K through fifth grade.

Students at Zeta South Bronx Elementary School were treated to a special performance by the New York Philharmonic.
Leaders at the charter school say one of the main pillars at the school is whole-child development, which they say involves exposure to various specialties like the arts.
Principal Oboist Liang Wang and award-winning pianist Junko Ichikawa performed for kids in pre-K through fifth grade. Officials say it allows students to explore and discover different interests.
Both Wang and Ichikawa say they hope the performance gets kids excited to pick up an instrument.
