Bronx residents came out to Orchard Beach to enjoy the sun, the sand, the water and music as Bronx Summer Concert Series kicked off Sunday.
The annual summer concert series put on by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson is free. It features a variety of music from salsa to mambo and freestyle legends.
On Sunday, beachgoers got to hear from artists Charlie Cruz, Son del Monte and C&C Music Factory.
Residents said they are grateful for the series. Sonia Rodriguez told News 12 after two years of dealing with the pandemic, people “need to get out, get air and enjoy life."
Jennifer Rios said this reminded her of what Orchard Beach once was 20 years ago.
The summer concert series will run every Sunday through Sept. 4.
