Police officers arrested a Bronx teacher accused of slapping a middle school student on two separate occasions, officials say.
Investigators say Mark Valentinetti, 58, hit the student Monday inside M.S. 83 on Rhinelander Avenue.
Police charged Valentinetti, of Westchester, with acting in a manner injurious to a child, assault and harassment.
The city's Department of Education says the teacher began working at the school at the beginning of the current school year.
Valentinetti was released on $3,500 bond and is due back in court on Dec. 18.
