A former Bronx high school teacher has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a gun and cigarette smuggling ring.
Theophilis Burroughs was sentenced Thursday. Prosecutors say the former Stuyvesant High School music teacher sold more than a dozen guns, as well as 27,000 cartons of untaxed cigarettes in 2009.
Investigators say Burroughs was heard on tape expressing his support for terrorist organizations during the transactions.
Burroughs is facing other charges in New Jersey.
