A Bronx teen claims she was sexually assaulted at a YMCA after-school program that is supposed to keep kids safe and out of trouble.
The 14-year-old told officials she was changing inside a locker room at Intermediate School 174 when a 15-year-old boy entered the room. According to the Department of Education (DOE), the boy told the girl to perform oral sex on him while another female student held the door shut so she could not escape. The DOE maintains the YMCA is responsible for students? safety during programs it runs, despite the alleged incident occurring at a public school.
The YMCA has not returned calls from News 12 The Bronx.
