The Bronx Terminal Market (BTM) has been in the borough since 1935. What was once a wholesale center for fruits and vegetables is now a shopping center with 16 retail stores, the new
Boogie Down Food Hall, and a soon-to-come Department of Motor Vehicles office—all as a living piece of history.
Built on a sprawling 17-acre site, the terminal market employs more than 1,475 employees from big-box businesses like Applebee’s and Target to mom-and-pop shops like Harlem Furniture and Marisco Centro.
Located just minutes from Yankee Stadium and across from The Hip Hop Museum, BTM leaders say they work to invest in the community as much as their customers support them. As you explore the mall, you’ll also see pieces of the past like an art dedication to Bronx native Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor or the flagship building that’s still standing.
Through local events like their upcoming fall fest, the market says they hope to show the community that the space is theirs as well.
