Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson held a historic flag raising on Tuesday.
Gibson and her African Advisory Council hotsed the first-ever African Union flag raising in the borough.
The borough president says it holds huge significance with the Bronx being home to the largest concentration of African immigrants in the nation.
The event kicked off at 2 p.m. at Bronx Borough Hall.
